Im Sommer 2022 wurde ich von Micha Fritz angeschrieben, ob ich für das Demokratie-Manifest von Fritz Kola und Viva Con Agua eine Wand zur Ausstellung »FLUXUS« in der Millerntor Gallery schreiben würde.

Mit dem Manifest adressieren Fritz Kola und die Millerntor Gallery ihre Forderungen zum Start des G7-Gipfels im Juni 2022, die Schlusszeile lautet:

»… macht alarm für die demokratie. bleibt wild. bunt. laut. unbequem. den ganzen tag — bis zum nächsten morgen. und dann immer weiter.«

Der Text auf der Wand gibt das Manifest wieder — die silberne, aufgebrochene Fraktur im Hintergrund (alles Großbuchstaben, unverbunden — wie aufgebrochene Ketten) wird überschrieben mit einer lesbaren Schrift (alles Kleinbuchstaben, handschriftlich/stylewriting). Gerade in der Kalligrafie transportieren Schriften viel Image, da die meisten kalligrafischen Schriften im Vergleich zu z.B. heutigen Buchschriften deutlich mehr auffallen und eigensinniger sind.

In der Mitte sitzt das Schloss Elmau, gestaltet und gebaut von Aquagringo, der sich auf Graffiti- und Streetart-Miniaturen spezialisiert hat. Im Schloss läuft ein Video mit Prominenten, die sich politisch positionieren und Demokratie einfordern.

Danke für die Einladung und die fantastische Chance, meine Kunst mit meiner politischen Ansicht zu vereinen! Erst recht in einer Ausstellung mit Graffiti-Künstler*innen mit dem Schwerpunkt auf weiblich interpretierte Kunstschaffende!

In summer 2022 I was invited by Micha Fritz to do a wall calligraffiti piece with the new Fritz Kola and Viva Con Agua manifesto for democracy at Millerntor Gallery.

With the manifesto, Fritz Kola and the Millerntor Gallery addressed their demands for the start of the political and economical forum called „G7“ summit in June 2022, the closing lines read:

„… sound the alarm for democracy. stay wild. colorful. loud. uncomfortable. all day — until the next morning. and then on and on.“

The text on the wall reads the manifesto — the silver broken fracture in the background (all capital letters, unconnected — like broken chains) is written over with a legible script (all lowercase, handwritten/stylewriting). Especially in calligraphy, scripts convey a lot of image, as most calligraphic scripts are much more eye-catching and stubborn compared to today’s book fonts.

In the middle is a miniature model of Schloss Elmau (where the forum was held), designed and built by Aquagringo, who specialized in graffiti and street art miniatures. A video of celebrities taking a political stance and calling for democracy is shown in the castle.
