In den »Schreibübungen« kehrt Em Krallmann zu dem Prozess des Schreibens zurück, in dem Inhalt und Form im Jetzt gleichzeitig entstehen. Die Arbeit auf dem Westopia-Festival 2021 umfasste einen Workshop, bei dem die Teilnehmenden gemeinsam eine Papierbahn handschriftlich beschrieben, welches die Grundlage für eine kalligrafische Performance von Em Krallmann bildete.
In the „writing exercises“, Em Krallmann returns to the process of writing, in which content and form emerge simultaneously in the now. The work at the Westopia Festival 2021 included a workshop in which the participants write together on a sheet of paper, which forms the basis for a calligraphic performance by Em Krallmann.
To use different languages in one text(ure) does not mean that there is a translation happening. Au contraire, every word in its language has, a priori, its own uniqueness. How does translation change Be-Deutung or expresión? How could translation hurt or even maintain it? Does translation make a word less of a word and more of a meaning? De-Contexto-alisierung, Re-Contexto-alisierung or Neo-Contexto-alisierung? Are we now, more than ever, tourists in an oscillating net-word – Doikayt, as a matter of being home in the here and now.
Beim Westopia-Festival ging es um eine mehrsprachige Literatur der Zukunft. Einerseits wurden viele wundervolle Arbeiten und Vorträge rund um kontemporäre und zukünftige Literatur veranstaltet. Andererseits gab es verschiedene Diskussionsrunden, in denen gemeinsame Positionen zum Literaturbetrieb erarbeitet wurden. Dies wurde schließlich vom Kollektiv »foundintranslation« zu einem »offenen Brief an den Literaturbetrieb« weiterverarbeitet. Das Westopia-Festival wurde vom Center for Literature Münster in Kooperation mit dem Kollektiv »foundintranslation« initiiert. Das internationale Autor*innenkollketiv veranstaltet unter anderem die mehrsprachige Lesereihe »Hafenlesung« in Hamburg (http://www.hafenlesung.com).
The Westopia Festival was about a multilingual literature of the future. On the one hand, many wonderful works and lectures were organized around contemporary and future literature. On the other hand, there were various discussion rounds in which common positions on the literary the literary industry were developed. This was ultimately processed by the collective „foundintranslation“ into an „open letter to the literary industry“. The Westopia Festival was initiated by the Center for Literature Münster in cooperation with the „foundintranslation“ collective. Among other things, the international authors‘ collective organizes the multilingual reading series „Hafenlesung“ in Hamburg (www.hafenlesung.com)
